Crispy Fried Shallots

Ingredients:
10-15 shallots
2 tsp flour
oil (for deep frying)

Methods:

  1. Peel and slice the shallots evenly and thinly.
  2. Separate the shallot slices into rings and place them in a medium bowl.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the shallots and toss them lightly to coat evenly.
  4. Heat up oil in a frying pan. Sprinkle the shallots over the oil and stir gently to keep them separated.
  5. Fry until golden brown (approx 10-15 minutes).
  6. Drain the fried shallots using a strainer.
  7. Pour the fried shallots on a kitchen towel to absorb the oil.
  8. When it is cool, store it in an air-tight container on the kitchen shelf for up to one month.

  3. Hi Angie, I have never seen someone blog about recipes before. Well-done! Even fried shallot has a different technique of cooking.
